Welcome to Your Agile Doctor's Site

What this site is all about

If you are a practitioner of Agile Software Development, then you have certainly found, that adhering to Agile principles and values in real projects is not easy, as we are unearthing deficiencies and problems our organisatons are facing.

A big part of the Agile community is focussing on so-called "Best Practices". But unfortunately we have a bad message for you: There are no single "Best Practices". Why do we say this? For one, each and every project is different, with different people, different organizational culture and different environmental parameters. So every project needs a different set of practices to work with. What may be good for one company may wreck havoc in an another setting. Second, every project is mophing as it evolves. So also our practices to account for the change have to be constantly adapted.

This site is a companion site to the book "Agile Processes - Pitfalls and How to Avoid Them" (unfortunately currently only available in German) by Jiri Lundak. It mostly focuses on problems in Agile projects and organizations.

So, what can you find on this site:

  • A collection of symptoms for problems you may encounter in your Agile project.
  • A set of possible root causes for problems you face.
  • Symptoms and causes are cross-referenced for finding possible different causes.
  • A set of principles we find useful to Agile software development.
  • A set of values that further Agile behaviour.
  • Stories of problems extracted from real Agile projects.

This site is currently under construction (watch it for added content and improvment!)
